Matthew Newman has extensive expertise in business development, management, and sustainability capitalism specializing in renewable energy, low carbon solutions, innovation, novel technology implementation, logistics and optimization, electricity generation, natural gas, financial derivatives, business start-ups and turn around projects, waste reduction and recycling, building collaborative teams and relationships locally and at state and federal levels.  Mr. Newman is the Principal Managing Partner of New Era Advisors which is engaged in strategic growth and modernization initiatives, implementation and commercialization of new concepts and technologies, identifying and executing opportunities at the intersections of fossil fuel, renewables, carbon capture, hydrogen, and supply chain.   Mr. Newman is serving as an advisor to the Oklahoma Secretary of Energy and Environment and Facilitator for the Oklahoma Hydrogen Task Force and is also the board chair for the US Department of Commerce’s NIST MEP Advisory Board; NIST MEP supports manufacturing in all 50 States and Puerto Rico, positively impacting our domestic supply chain resiliency.  Mr. Newman also serves as Venture Advisor and Deal Partner for FortySix Venture Capital LLC, focused on early-stage investments in the enabling technologies ecosystem driving Energy Tech, Healthcare Tech and Digital Transformation.

Mr. Newman graduated with distinction from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Business Administration, has worked for the nation’s largest electric utility, fossil fuel,  and renewable energy companies, served his community through support for local schools, city and non-profit boards including; The Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology (OCAST), Oklahoma Environmental Quality Board, Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality’s Solid Waste Management Advisory Council, Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance, GRI’s oil and gas task force advisory committee, The University of Oklahoma-Tulsa Advisory Council, The Tulsa Regional Chamber’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee, Tulsa Regional Water Policy Task Force, The Foundation for Tulsa Schools, Sustainable Tulsa, received numerous awards at the state and local levels, and serves as a guest lecturer for colleges and universities.
